On November 22, WDN Russia country chapter member Vera Pronkina was appointed Minister for Youth in Novosibirsk region. Vera is currently the only female minister in the entire region, and will report directly to the Governor.

Vera is active in local politics, having run for office in the 2010 local elections. Prior to her appointment, she served as chairwoman of the Center for the Development of Parliament and Local Government.
