Launched in 2007, the Georgia Country Chapter’s mission is to increase political knowledge among women in Georgia, encourage young women to get involved in political decision making processes and to become actively involved in the civil society.
In 2012, the Chapter hosted Women’s Leadership Schools (WLS) for young women throughout Georgia to encourage them to become more active in politics. As upcoming elections are scheduled for 2012 and 2013, Chapter members are focused on encouraging WLS students to register to vote, review the political party platforms and join a political party or advocacy campaign. In addition to conducting leadership schools, the Chapter has implemented what they learned in WDN workshops on advocacy and fundraising to host charity events to aid Georgian orphanages.
