WDN Georgia Chapter Members Participate in Youth Summit

WDN Georgia chapter members Tinatin Khubulashvili (right) and Nini Chanturia (left) were among more than 100 local civil society representatives who participated in a youth summit organized by the International Network for Civil Development (Network) in Tblisi, Georgia.  The Network is a civil society group founded in 2008 by Georgian youth.  The group strives to strengthen the role of youth in conflict prevention, resolution and peace-building efforts.

The summit focused on the Millennium Development Goals and their implementation in Georgia.  Nini and Tinatin’s presentation focused on the third goal, gender equality and women’s rights.  In addition, they presented WDN Georgia chapter activities and announced the launch of their planned Women’s Leadership Schools for young women leaders.
